Here are some of my best tips & tricks for when I am feeling

lazy and unmotivated to do anything.

Because sometimes life is hard and we need a little push to

not climb into bed and nap.

Habit Tracker App.

Last year, I found this app by Apalon Apps called Productive – Habit Tracker. Basically, it lets you make your own goals (habits), schedule them, and set reminders for you to accomplish them. Then it keeps track of all your accomplishments in a calendar. These goals can be daily, weekly, or monthly. I created mine based off of the things I wanted to make sure I completed every day such as, “Read, Take Off Makeup/Do Skincare Routine, Take Vitamins, and Workout”. The app keeps track of your “streaks” (how many days in a row you have completed your habits). These “streaks” really helped me continue on with my habits. I wanted to see how high of a streak I could reach! I highly recommend checking out an app like this or making your own habit tracker in a journal.

Put On Workout Clothes As Soon As You Get Home.

This is a tip for all you ladies who come home from work exhausted and dreaming about your pajamas. Although it is not a guarantee that you will workout if you put on your workout clothes (I know this from experience), it does give you a better chance since you will be all ready if the mood strikes! Also, buying a few new workout clothing pieces usually gets me excited to workout when I am in a slump. I included some of favorite picks at the bottom of this post.

Make A To-Do List Every Morning.

Sounds simple enough and it really does help! I usually just jot down some quick notes in my phone while I’m still laying in bed. On busier days, I like to write out my lists on paper. There’s something so satisfying about physically crossing things off of a list. Pro tip: get some cute notepads like this one from Zazzle or this one from PaperSource because if you have cute notepad on your desk, you are more likely to use it.

Invest In A Planner.

If you are struggling with time management and feel like your days are being wasted away into a blur of Netflix… then you need a planner! After I bought a planner, suddenly I had all these activities that I needed to do! Not sure where these activities came from, but I needed to fill the planner up with something. I love this planner from Urban Outfitters or this one from Anthropology.

Stick To A Routine.

This goes along with the idea of the habit tracker. If you create a routine and stick to it you are more likely to accomplish all of your tasks for the day. It helps you feel more in control and on top of things, too.

Get Inspired (books, songs, podcasts, Instagram accounts).

This is one of the most important things for me. Finding what motivates you to want to become better and reach your goals is huge. Some things that have inspired me are this podcast about “designing your everyday life”, or The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin (she also has a podcast). I usually find inspiration in smaller everyday things, like a quote I saw on Pinterest or a post by one of my favorite followers on Instagram. Explore and pay attention to what gives you motivation so you can go back to these things in time of need. Just be careful to not get too caught up because if you spend too much time trying to get inspired and it’s not working, you end up feeling worse.

Invest in a Bluetooth Scale.

This is great if one of your goals is to get healthy this year! I found this Bluetooth scale on Amazon which has a free app that you download to keep track and manage your health! The app keeps track of not only your weight, but also your body fat percentage, body water percentage, bone mass, BMI, visceral fat, BMR, and muscle mass. It also gives you a rating on a scale, such as inadequate, standard, or optimal along with some tips! I don’t know how it does it, but it’s really cool. I’m not trying to lose weight but I think this information is good to know to make sure your body is performing how it should be.

Print Out Recipe Cards For Your Favorite Easy Meals.

If you struggle with finding motivation to cook dinner after a long day of work, this tip is for you! Deciding on dinner doesn’t have to be so hard. You can print recipes right from a website and keep them together in a binder or create your own cards on a free site like Canva or Google Docs. When you have everything printed out in front of you ready to go, you may decide that the .99 cent box of mac and cheese calling your name (again) is probably the wrong choice.

Keep Makeup Wipes Next To Your Bed.

My number one tip to keeping your skin clear is to NEVER go to sleep with your makeup on. It’s honestly one of my biggest struggles in life at the moment. As soon as I lay down for a minute, I’m done for. But, even if you’re too lazy to get up and wash your face with real cleanser, you can still help out your face by using a makeup wipe. Place these right on your nightstand in arms reach so you don’t even have to get up. My favorite wipes to use are the Cetaphil Gentle Makeup Removing Wipes.
